Supporting St Charles Church
St Charles Borromeo Church is sustained not only by prayer and worship, but by the quiet generosity of those who care about its future. Like all historic church buildings, there are ongoing costs — from essential maintenance and heating, to insurance, accessibility, and the everyday expenses that allow parish life to continue.
Fr Phil has asked whether anyone might be willing to help with fundraising, and this invitation is open to everyone. Support does not have to be time-consuming or complicated, and even small contributions make a real difference.
There are many simple and familiar ways people can help, including:
helping with or organising raffles
supporting or hosting coffee mornings or after-Mass refreshments
assisting with small social events or parish gatherings
donating prizes, baking, or refreshments
offering ideas for occasional, low-key fundraising activities
Fundraising at St Charles does not need to be elaborate. Friendly, well-run events such as raffles and coffee mornings have long been part of parish life and are often the most effective — raising funds while also strengthening community and hospitality.
Anyone interested in helping, even in a small or occasional way, is warmly encouraged to speak with Fr Phil. There is no obligation and no expectation of long-term commitment — just a willingness to lend a hand when possible.
Caring for St Charles is a shared responsibility, and every contribution of time, energy, or support helps ensure that this place of worship, heritage, and welcome continues to serve both parishioners and visitors for years to come.
